Sunday 20 August, 2017 - Liberty Park, Dublin 1

Hello everyone!
We hope you are keeping well despite the crazy rain these days.

For this Sunday we have partnered with the Treeline Project to offer you a new exciting sketching location: Liberty Park (Eileen McLoughlin Park), Foley Str., Dublin 1.

As usual, we will meet there at 2pm and then have a coffee together later on.

For the coffee-time we'll go to the Cleary's Pub on Amiens Street at 4pm. It's a pub with some interesting history (it was mentioned in a Michael Collins’ documentary as a pub where he held meetings. Images of Collins hang in the pub to this day.)

If it’s your first time out and you can’t spot anyone who looks like a sketcher at 2pm, just choose something to draw and get stuck in. Keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketchbook and say hello. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are! You need to bring your own paper and pens/pencils etc.

A bunch of people who look like sketchers will magically appear.

Hope to see you there!

PS: last Sunday someone forgot a Spiderman case with some sketching material in it. If it's yours, please let us know!

Sketches from Temple Bar

After a few wet Sundays, yesterday turned out to be dry and nice. We had a lot of fun sketching the colourful pubs and crowds around Temple Bar. One of the highlights of the day was seeing our very own sketcher Davey busking on the street! At least three sketchers did him a portrait to thank him for the great show :-)

This Sunday we are meeting at 2pm in the heart of the city: Temple Bar!

There are plenty of subjects: colorful buildings, people, pubs, live bands... And if it rains, we can find shelter in the National Photographic Archive (http://www.nli.ie/en/national-photographic-archive.aspx)

For the coffee-time we'll meet at 4pm in the spacious Fitzsimons Temple Bar. Address: corner of Essex Street and Eustace Street. A bunch of people who look like sketchers will magically appear.

Hope to see you there!

Sketches from Portobello area

August in Ireland is not the driest month. But we won't let that spoil the fun. There were plenty of cafés and pubs in the neighbourhood, with lots of interesting visuals to keep us amused for the afternoon. Definitely an area we'd love to explore again on a dry day.

Welcome to new sketchers, Nadia and Marylène. We hope you enjoyed the outing despite the rain!

And thanks to the Eatyard for the shelter, delicious food, and friendly staff at Burn Baby Burn and The Box Burger!
