On Sunday the 29th November Dublin Sketchers are going to the RHA on Ely Place

We'll meet at 2pm in the entrance foyer

Here's a handy website http://www.rhagallery.ie/visit to help you get there

From 4pm, we'll gather for a coffee at The RHA gallery coffee shop

This week's optional challenge, should you choose to take it, is to create a short story with three or more sketches.

If you haven't been before keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketch book and come and say hello. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are!

Hope to see you there!

Sketches from the Print Museum

The Print Museum! Always a fine spot for a bit of sketching... their coffee shop is perfect for drawing in too... and does a fine spread.

Here's what we got up to today.

Any suggestions for next week?

Sunday 22nd November - National Print Museum in Beggars Bush

On Sunday the 22nd November Dublin Sketchers are going to The National Print Museum on Haddington Road in Beggars Bush. It's housed in an old barracks.

There's a small entry fee (under €5) but sometimes they let us in for free because we are Dublin Sketchers. So, chat nicely at the till and you might get in for free, but don't push it if they want us to pay!

We'll meet at 2pm at the entrance to the museum (it opens at 2pm).

Here's a website to help you find it - http://www.nationalprintmuseum.ie/visit-us/

From 4pm, we'll gather for a coffee at the coffee shop in the back of the museum.

If you haven't been before keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketch book and come and say hello. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are!

Hope to see you there!

Hi all,

We will meet inside the main entrance at the RDS in Ballsbridge at 2pm.
(Bazaar  is open from 11  am to 5pm so you can get in earlier if you wish)
Just so you know it costs €5 to go in.

At 4pm we can meet in the coffee shop nearest the main entrance inside the RDS for usual chat but for anyone desiring to draw for free as usual they can do so elsewhere and we will have a second meeting point at 5pm at the Herbert Hotel

If you are new and show up late just keep an eye out for people with notebooks sketching about the place, don't be afraid to say hello otherwise just get stuck in and meet us at one of the two meet up points at 4 or 5pm

Thank You!

A big thank you to

Mauro, Balazs, Mandy, Jane, James, Jessica and Des

for organising a month (or more) of Dublin Sketchers this year.

Also advance thanks to Alex for offering to organise December.

Thanks also to everyone who has helped out with taking photos of our sketches each week and putting them on the website.

Dublin Sketchers has been going for 7 years! It's a simple formula - we get together on a Sunday afternoon somewhere in Dublin (and sometimes beyond) to share our love of sketching. Each month, a different person organises the locations and spreads the word on this website, on facebook and via a mailing list.

So, yes, we'll need 12 people for 2016 to do a month each!

Sunday the 8th November - basement coffee shop in Centra on Westland Row.

On Sunday the 8th November Dublin Sketchers are going to the basement coffee shop in Centra on Westland Row.

BRING something to add to a still life (grab the closest thing as you head out the door), or perhaps draw other people in the group, or there's nice paintings to copy on the wall, and a baby grand piano.

As we'll be in the coffee shop for a couple of hours, do remember to BUY a drink while you draw!

The session is from 2pm - 4pm roughly, and we'll have our usual gathering to check out each other's work in the same place.

If the weather is fine, you could draw Westland Row station, the oldest suburban railway station in the world, or Oscar Wilde's birthplace opposite.

If you haven't been before keep your eyes open for anyone carrying a sketch book and come and say hello. Don't worry if you're late, most of us usually are - it is Sunday after all!

Help make Dublin Sketchers happen

Dublin Sketchers is 7 years old. It's alive and kicking because we all help to make it happen. Each month, a different person arranges the weekly locations by choosing somewhere to go letting people know via this website, facebook and a mailing list.

Do you want to arrange the locations for December?

Email dublinsketchers @ gmail dot com if you do

Thanks
