Sketched OUT / Drawn IN

A portrait of the city through the eyes of 40 Dublin Sketchers

Where: The Drawing Room, Marine Road, Dun Laoghaire
When: Opening Friday 22nd June 6.00pm - 8.30pm
Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June 11am - 6pm

This weekend over 40 artists from the Dublin Sketchers group will present an exhibition of their work in the Drawing Room, Marine Road, Dun Laoghaire, hosted by the Institute of Art Design and Technology (IADT).

There will be over 200 sketches in pencil, paint and other media on display, created during the Sketchers’ weekly Sunday explorations of Dublin. The exhibition will feature impressions of well loved places like The Botanic Gardens and hidden gems like The National Print Museum. Also on display will be a number of sketchbooks and over 40 pieces of finished artwork by members of the group.

Dublin Sketchers member Des Mullally explained how so much work has been assembled for the exhibition, "it's been quite a year for the Sketchers. We've been out every Sunday, tracing the city with pencils and paints, seeking out subjects, scurrying from the rain and basking in the light when it came our way. This weekend, we're opening up our sketchbooks and we hope you'll come to see the city through the eyes of the Dublin Sketchers. The work on show this weekend is really just the tip of the iceberg!"
